Located in the heart of Hirafu upper village, Berg Resort Residences and Piazza are the landmark village square and gathering space for the vibrant resort community of Hirafu. The striated condominium towers and terraced penthouses offer breathtaking views of Mt. Yotei, the Niseko ski fields as well as the lower village and Elysian landscapes beyond. Balconies or generous terraces are provided throughout for fair-weather outdoor entertaining and relaxation.

Two unique buildings wrap around connected open spaces; an energetic public square off Main Street with cafe tables spilling out from sheltered arcade restaurants, cafes and shops into this sunlit piazza. One then passes through a dramatic portal that opens to framed views of Mt. Yotei, into to a leafy, more intimate courtyard with terrace dining in an idyllic park setting. Residents have at their doorstep a variety of quality amenities and services. They can sit at an open air café table and enjoy Niseko’s social scene, or dine in a charming garden courtyard with astonishing views of Japans most beautiful volcano.

The architecture of Berg Resort Residences is inspired by the poignant alpine landscapes of Niseko, where the constant interplay of light and shadow gives drama to overlapping ridges and valleys, rock faces and forests alike.  The stratified facades and eroded corners recall natural geological patterns that characterize Japans mountain scenery. The variegated screen walls of the portal and penthouses cast dappled light and shimmering reflections like an alpine lake in a woodland glade. Facades angle, turn and shift to embrace views and sunlight through generous picture windows and expansive balconies. Muted shades of bronze and rust color tints recall the lush colors of autumn. Plentiful use of natural materials including stone and timber impart softness and delight to the architecture and open spaces, achieving for the Berg Residences an entrancing resort atmosphere with distinction and grace.
